In the Lake District, Ambleside Central is a tall Victorian building, offering room-only accommodation with period features over three floors. Please bare in mind that there is no lift/elevator. The stylish rooms are decorated with rich, colourful fabrics and modern art. Some rooms feature an original fireplace, and all rooms offer tea and coffee facilities and en-suite or private modern bathrooms. We however do not serve breakfast. The guest house is just 2 minutes' walk from Ambleside Bus Station and is next to The Lily Bar which serves great bar food with an impressive wine list. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and pubs just a short walk away - which can get noisy on weekends. Ambleside Central Guest House is just 20 minutes' walk from famous Lake Windermere, where a range of boating activities are available. Windermere town centre and railway station can be reached in 15 minutes, and Grasmere is 10 minutes away. Free off-site parking is available around a 7-minute walk away. -

Ambleside Central Guest House offers a 3 Star Room Only accommodation in Ambleside, The Lake District. There are numerous hotels and Bed and Breakfast accommodations in Ambleside, but what makes us different is the unique combination between luxury and low cost, and we have even more to offer. Our central location and the room only concept gives you the opportunity to enjoy a great night out and come back to your cosy room anytime and in just a few minutes. We are in a vibrant and busy part of town, in the vicinity of bars and restaurants and on the main road: weekends and holiday seasons can be busy for us and the neighbourhood. If you seek the peaceful idyll of rural Lake District, Ambleside Central is not the place for you. As we are self-serve accommodation with electronic key pads to open codes so please make sure to add a valid Mobile Number to the booking so you can receive the codes. Please note that Ambleside Central is a tall, Victorian building which, like most buildings in Ambleside, has no lift and is not best suited to those with mobility issues.

Kindly note the accommodation is accessible via stairs only. Therefore it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

Please note that check-in is from 15:00 onwards unless otherwise arranged. No keys will be given as both the main front door and room door are accessed by codes. You'll receive the codes the day of your arrive via text message and these codes will only be valid for the duration of your stay. Rooms must be vacated by 10:30 on the day of departure.

Please note that guests are kindly asked to provide the start date when booking with a Maestro card.
