Awelfa is a peaceful cottage in a quiet hamlet of Llan. You are surrounded by the Cambrian mountains and the countryside, with multiple walks and bike rides from the front door. Every view from the garden is a postcard! The cottage is comfortable, cosy, and equipped with everything you may need: from Nespresso coffee machine (pods provided) and all kitchen appliances/equipment to indoor and outdoor fireplaces and multiple outdoor sitting areas. There are 3 comfortable bedrooms, a cosy sitting area, a kitchen/diner and a modern shower room with a walk in shower. A covered porch houses a washer/drier and provides plenty of space for muddy walking boots and hiking gear.
A secure garage gives plenty of room for bike/equipment storage. The garden is fenced all around and secure, and the parking area in front of the garden can accommodate up to 3 cars.
We welcome up to 2 dogs, but ask that they are kept off furniture please.
Located in centre of the Cambrian range, Awelfa is a comfortable retreat to relax, unwind and explore this beautiful part of Wales. Set in a quiet hamlet 'far from the madding crowd' a perfect and comfortable base to enjoy nature and wldlife. Within easy reach of the Snowdonia National Park, the Dify Valley, Hafren Forest, Coed-y-Brenin, with numerous walking and cycling trails from the front door, and easy access to four RSPB nature reserves. Hafren forest with its plentiful walks and the source of the river Severn is a short drive or a cycle ride away and is a location of an Osprey nesting site - part of the Osprey project centred around the Dyfi valley.
You can enjoy swimming, paddle boarding, sailing, or fishing at the nearby Llyn Clywedog reservoir. Cardigan Bay coast with the sandy beaches of Aberdyfi and Aberystwyth is 30 minutes away, and offers a range of activities from dolphin watching to local finishing trips.
Awelfa also has plenty to offer to those who are interested in speed - the cottage is within easy access to Corris with several car parks which give excellent views of Mach Loop and regular sightings of a variety of fighter jets in training. Multiple classic cars and motorbike events take place in nearby Machynlleth.
