This is a lovely romantic, traditional cottage that sleeps two is tucked away close to Holy Trinity Church in Chapel Stile, just a few miles from the busier Ambleside and Grasmere. The property has been fully refurbished to a high standard, with an open plan ground floor and spacious first floor bedroom with its roll-top bath in which to relax and separate en-suite shower room. The tasteful decor and soft furnishings together with the wood burning stove and under floor heating help to create a warm and cosy atmosphere. The luxurious double bedroom with a king-size bed features a vaulted beamed ceiling. This room is filled with character and leads to an en-suite shower room with under floor heating. The roll top bath is perfect for long hot soaks after a day’s walking, while overlooking the Langdale Fells. The village of Chapel Stile is the gateway to the beautiful Langdale Valley with some of the most dramatic scenery in the Lakes, offering a wealth of walking opportunities. It has a well stocked Co-op for all the essentials.

Chapel Stile, in the heart of the Langdale valley, is a village that used to serve the local slate workings – well served on a good local bus route and with a convenient little Co-op which carries an impressive stock to support you on your holidays, and of course the local village pub, Wainwrights Inn. It is just 5 miles away from Ambleside, a much busier tourist hub with many shops, cinemas and a variety of eateries to suit most palates. Grasmere is only 9 miles away, famous for its lake, gingerbread and home to William Wordsworth which he described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found." For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located nearby in Chapel Stile. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
