I have been in the hospitality trade for over 35 years now, so I have lots of experience of what people need for their well earned holiday. I have lived in Broadstairs for most of my life, so I know both the area and all it has to offer very well. BAY COTTAGE A beautiful character cottage about 400 years old. It has been lovingly refurbished but still retaining it's beauty and charm, with exposed beams through-out. In the lounge there is a beautiful working open fire so this cottage is an ideal destination anytime of the year. The cottage is only a few minutes walk from the main beach (Viking Bay) and has excellent restaurant's, bars and shops also within a minutes walk. The cottage also has a beautiful private sunny courtyard garden to the rear where you can sit and relax. I would like to point out to all future guests that the cottage is set on four floors connected via a steep spiral staircase, so this property may not be suitable for people with any mobility issues or small children. I am also are very happy to accept dogs who I'm sure will enjoy the many lovely beach walks on your doorstep. (Additional Charge)

Next door to the cottage is The Old Curiosity tea shop' and a few minutes walk away from the famous Bleak House, where Charles Dickens stayed and wrote a few of his novels. Quaint shops, great pubs, restaurants and superb golden sandy beaches are all only a minutes' walk away. A two minutes walk away from two lovely sandy beaches, an array of independent restaurants, cocktail bars, pubs, cafes and shops. Broadstairs has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants, bistros and takeaways - Italian, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Chinese, or traditional English food are all within easy walking distance. We are fortunate enough to have an excellent bus system on the Isle. The Thanet Loop’ is one of the most frequent services in the UK, running on average every 10 minutes and operates 7 days a week, from early morning until late evening. This service provides excellent connections between Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate. Other bus services offered by Stagecoach will enable easy access to the villages. The number 8 bus provides excellent links from Thanet to the nearby city of Canterbury. A ‘Day rider' ticket is ideal for exploring the area, allowing you to hop-on or hop-off at any point, without limits.
