Louise & Andrew Thompson, we live here in south Cumbria and when were not building cabins like nothing more than exploring the rural and varied countryside Cumbria has to offer. We build and run Newland Valley Log Cabins with the help of our young family and our small herd of friendly Alpacas. We cant wait to welcome you to stay whether its a short break or long relaxing week don't hesitate to ask if you would like to know our favourite places to visit eat or explore.

Informazioni sulla struttura

Based in south Cumbria we have been hand-building log cabins here on the old farm site that used to house pigs, sheep, cattle & chickens. Now we house our own small Alpaca herd and a range of log cabins built to our own unique designs for over the last 20 years. With the emphasis on eco building and natural materials you wont find any others like it as many of the furnishings, furniture are all made here on site from alpaca blanket blinds hand painted cushions and bedding or solid oak lamps and tables. We really like to keep the feel cosy and homely where you can instantly relax in the open plan living rooms and enjoy the cosy log burners. We offer 3 traditional log built cabins all designed and lovingly built here on site by hand. Damson & Pear Tree using Siberian timber, Guardswood Cabin timbers were felled in Harry Guards Wood (Coniston) back in 2010 taking us a total of 18months to complete. Blackberry our oak framed cabin was specifically designed and built for short lets allowing breaks from 2 nights all year round.

We have have our own small Alpaca herd now five cheeky boys ready to welcome you when you arrive or enquire where you've been from the varied landscapes in the area. With distant views of the coast to the south and rural mountains to the North Newland Valley is set in the beautiful rural landscape of Newland. With the small market town of Ulverston just over the hill where you can enjoy an array of eateries and independant shops. A short walk takes you the the coastline of Morcambe Bay or a walk up over Lowick common, a short car journey where you can hike some of the local fells and enjoy stunning scenery over Coniston Water or Windermere. Many Cumbrian towns are easily accessible from Hawskhead, Coniston or Bowness within half an hr away or enjoy Grizedale forest or many fells just waiting to be climbed.
