Ashmanhaugh is a small parish to the north east of Hoveton and Wroxham, right in the heart of Norfolk Broads country. The parish includes the small village of Ashmanhaugh and the deserted medieval village of Beeston St Lawrence where the church is the only building remaining. The Broads National Park has endless opportunities for places and ways to explore, and the local area offers great opportunities for cycling (on quiet country roads), walking, wildlife and birdwatching and boating. The Broads were formed from the natural flooding of ancient peat workings and form a network of lakes joined by rivers. Several of the Broads are sites of special scientific interest. Roys of Wroxham, 'the biggest village store in the world' provides a huge range of clothing and food.
