Braithwaite House Rooms is an historical building dating back to the 1600's, with 4 en-suite rooms to offer explorers a cosy rest stop in the heart of Braithwaite village. Themed in alignment with the minerals mined from the nearby Force crag mine in days gone by; we offer the Copper room, the Quartz room, the Cobalt room and the Gold room. The location of Braithwaite House Rooms is ideal for cyclists, adventurers and walkers of wainwrights, being the gateway to the North Western fells, Whinlatter pass, and Newlands Valley. Uniquely, the building also offers The Village Shop, where visitors can collect groceries and gifts. In addition, you'll find within the building our Tea Room serving locally sourced delights, breakfast, sit in or take away packed lunches, and evening meals. Keeping village life alive we also aim very soon to have our on site Heritage Room-with artefacts from the old Force Crag mine, and infographics surrounding the history of Braithwaite.
