Property information

A beautiful, spacious two-bedroom cottage with all you need for a Northumberland break. Nestled in the peaceful village of Thropton, in Northumberland National Park, this cottage is a peaceful space from which to explore. Walk along the Wreigh Burn, and star gaze at the superb dark skies. There are numerous hill walk trails on the doorstep, as well as Simonside Hill. The accommodation is on two floors. On the ground floor, there is a large lounge with smart TV, a spacious dining area, fully equipped kitchen and family bathroom. Upstairs, there are two large bedrooms , both with king size beds, and a room for quiet study. Nearby attractions include: Alnwick Castle (Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films) - 24 min drive Cragside House and Gardens - 9 min drive The Holy Island of Lindisfarne - 60 min drive The Farne Islands with puffin tours - 45 min drive

Thropton is a rural retreat, a small village 2 miles from the larger Rothbury, which offers many delights - fishing, hill walking, country pubs. Within 3 miles of Cragside, the National Trust property once owned by Lord Armstrong. Nearby Rothbury provides more village shopping and a swimming pool. A beautiful place from which to explore the Northumbrian Coast and all its attractions - Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island to name but a few. Parking is freely available for guests.
