Bumble Choo is a traditional stone terraced cottage in the heart of Windermere, Lake District National Park. Sleeps 6 (superking/twin, king and king) with three bathrooms (2 ensuite, 1 family) and private parking for two cars. Featured in the Independent's Best Airbnbs in the Lake District, the property is a perfect base for family or a group of friends.
The property is a traditional Lakeland terraced cottage, set over four floors. Walking in through the back of the property, into the bootroom, you have a beautiful window seat to kick off your walking boots, and ample space to hang coats. The bootroom leads you to a cosy lounge with seating for six, complete with a log burner for those cold nights in, tiled floors and other original features, as well as a smart TV, books, puzzles and games. On the same level is a well equipped kitchen with beautiful stone floor, range cooker, dishwasher, washer dryer and microwave, complete with breakfast bar where you can perch to drink a coffee and plan your next day’s adventures.
On the next level, to the front of the property, there is a sophisticated dining room with generous dining space for six, as well as a cosy window seat. To the back, on the same level, there is a beautifully presented super king bedroom, which can also be made up as a twin room (please specify when booking), with ensuite shower, basin and WC.
Upstairs are two king sized bedrooms, again with premium hotel feel, one with ensuite shower, basin and WC. On the top floor is a luxurious family bathroom, with roll top bath and separate waterfall shower.
A southern facing patio with table and chairs gives the opportunity to enjoy an al fresco drink at the end of the day. There is also private gated parking with EV charging for two cars (please note the UK parking space standard per car is 2.4x4.8m, the off road space may fit only one longer car.)
Open water swimmer, love to get outdoors with the family.

The largest natural lake in England, Windermere is the perfect place to explore the beautiful Lake District National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the landscapes are incredible and have inspired many writers, poets and artists.
Windermere has both short easy-access walks, longer routes and some classic Lake District summits with views over the lake. A short walk from Bumble Choo cottage takes you to Orrest Head, an outstanding viewpoint and the first ‘summit’ visited by Alfred Wainwright, author of the famous guidebooks. Coniston, Rydal and Grasmere, all with their own smaller lakes, are within easy reach. Why not take an open top bus to Grasmere where you'll find Sarah Nelson's famous Gingerbread Shop. Close by is the resting place of poet William Wordsworth.
For those wanting an active holiday, Windermere is a prime destination. From cruises to motor boats, rowing, kayaking and canoeing, paddleboards, sailing and swimming, there are multiple ways to get out on the water. There are also plenty of activities on dry land, with options for balloon flights, golf and horseriding. The western shore is particularly good for family-friendly cycling.
In Windermere village you can enjoy boutique shops, galleries, tempting cafes, restaurants and bars. The Little Ice Cream Shop around the corner is well worth a visit, serving very generous scoops.
The local area is fantastic for families. The World of Beatrix Potter attraction brings all her tales to life. At Brockhole on Windermere you can enjoy the famous adventure playground, paddle and explore the fabulous Mawson designed gardens. Fell Foot Park, offers fine picnic areas. The award winning Lakes Aquarium has the UK's largest collection of freshwater fish. A visit also wouldn't be complete without riding the Lakeside and Haverthwaite
There are also many historic houses, museums and gardens from Beatrix Potter's Hill Top and Gallery, Blackwell Arts and Crafts house, and English Heritage’s Stott Park Bobbin Mill.
