Kacey & Stephen George took over the property in Oct 2018. They are a husband & wife team who decided to turn their passions into a lifestyle. Feeling claustrophobic with city life, and after years of highland holidays, they found Burnside Cottage. Kacey's love of cooking and interior design, together with Stephen's wood carving & photography has come together in Burnside Cottage. Phase 1 saw the initial redecoration of the property. Phase 2 a new guest entrance has been added, suites updated and redecorated, dining and seating facilities have been enhanced. We have now moved to serving all meals via room service. Solar panels have also been added. Phase 3 (future plans) further eco features to be added e.g. EV charging points

Burnside Cottage B&B is a stylish eco-friendly B&B (awarded Gold by Green Tourism in 2022). It is located on the north coast of Scotland. Just 800m off the NC500 and less than 1/2 mile from the Pentland (Orkney) ferry. We have a separate guest entrance, and we have recently redecorated and enhanced the rooms to add seating and dining areas. We offer an extensive optional evening menu showcasinglocal produce with many plant based options. All meals are served via room service. We are trying to minimise our carbon footprint and source all food locally where possible. We have secure storage for motorcycles/bicycles and ample parking. We also accept dogs.

Burnside Cottage is situated just 800m off the NC500 and 1/2 a mile from the Gills Bay / Pentland (Orkney) ferry. We are half way between the main northern highland towns of Wick & Thurso (30 & 25 minute drives respectively). John O'groats, Duncansby Stacks, The Castle and Gardens of Mey & Dunnet Head are around a 10 minute drive from the property.
