Bolthole Retreats was founded in 2017 by Martin McWilliam and is based in Cheltenham. We are the leading independent agency for Cotswold holiday rental properties. We work closely with owners and housekeepers to ensure that guests have a truly memorable stay. We pride ourselves on our local knowledge, whether it be of a local farm shop, cycle routes or events. Our aim is to enable guests to have the opportunity to enjoy authentic Cotswold experiences, from the Cotswold experts, in a lovely Cotswold property that suits their needs.

This stunning, Cotswold, Grade II listed barn conversion sleeps 10 across five bedrooms (+2 on double sofa bed) and has two ensuite bathrooms, a family shower room and separate WC. Downstairs twin room with adjacent W.C. suitable for guests with limited mobility. Features original beams, Cotswold stone walls, a wood burner fireplace and a spectacular open plan living-dining area with a vaulted ceiling. Special extras include an indoor ping pong table, a garden fire pit and private access to the village playing field. Located in the pretty Cotswold village of Poulton, in walking distance of a popular local pub with country walks on the doorstep. The downstairs twin room, with adjacent W.C. and downstairs shower room would suit guests with limited mobility (though not wheelchair friendly). Upstairs are four double bedrooms, one ensuite and two sharing a family bathroom and the downstairs shower room. 2 well-behaved dog/s are welcome for an additional fee of 40 GBP per dog. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog/s and you will be sent a request for the additional fee. Please note a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is fully refundable up to 60 days of arrival when your remaining balance payment is due. Please note that additional guests above the maximum capacity are not permitted. It is our policy not to take bookings for single sex group celebrations, which includes Stag and Hen nights, or groups where the majority are under 25 years. Butts Farm sleeps a maximum of 10 adults. The sofa bed is only suitable for children.

Poulton is a small but thriving Cotswold village with a traditional British pub, The Falcon Inn, serving British modern food and featuring locally brewed cask ales - booking strongly advised. The village has a church (St Michael’s and All Angels) and a fantastic children's playground and village community playing field, called Englands, just behind the Farm, with direct access through the garden gate. Poulton Cricket Club is based at Englands and has a full training/match schedule and welcomes visiting spectators. The closest food shops to Poulton are in Fairford (3 miles) and Cirencester (6 miles). Butts Farm is just 5 miles from the Cotswold Water Park, with 150 lakes over 40 square miles offering every imaginable outdoor activity available from fishing and swimming to SUP and wakeboarding and much more. Head to Lechlade (8 miles away) for a day’s boating on the River Thames. Hop on at the Trout Inn and spend an idyllic day cruising down the river with Cotswold Boat Hire to Tadpole Bridge and back.
