Welcome to Caleb Cottage, a newly renovated cottage in the delightful little village of lower Solva. (one minute walk to the harbourside). This 500-year-old 4 bedroom cottage sleeps 8 and a respectful dog. We believe you will have the best holiday and fall in love with Solva and the surrounding areas. We live locally and manage the cottage independently adding loving personal touches so you have the very best stay with us.
We love West Wales and recently moved there permanently after many years of using our holiday homes. We have a 7 and 16 year old who have grown up on the beaches all around Pembs. We believe the outstanding beauty and peaceful characteristics of Pembrokeshire offer a beautiful way of life and we are truly blessed to share this with you all. We can’t wait or make your trips bette then expected and go overboard on expectations and standards and living locally we can do this. We can’t wait to chat to you about your next trip away.
Solva has such a lovely scene. It’s got something for everyone. There’s super shops, eateries and activities for all. It’s gentle vibe and easy way of life means it’s always like a holiday town and A smily place to be. We love the hiking for breathtaking views over the valley and the swimming in coves and secret beaches all around. Or a gentle stroll from the car park can just be enough for those who aren't walkers and just offer views of sea birds, a tide that goes into the village and out to the sea ( it’s a huge total range. ) honestly the days are plentiful and activities however strenuous or not there is plenty to do and admire. At David’s is only 4 miles away either by foot on the coastal path, car or local bus. It’s cute and easy to get around. We love the visitors centre with its fabulously curated art shows and displays and local art works for sale. Love to surf?! You’re in for a treat. Newgale is world famous and 10 mins away and Whitesands also legendary possible 15 mins. Kayak or paddle board - amazing. We have garden a few mins away to leave kit in and dry things out and the harbours huge tidal range means you can get in right off the carpark jetty or beach. It’s so simple and so much fun. We do all this and find the cottage is so accessible and easy due to its proximity to the sea. Children - perfect the play park is three doors down at the bottom Of River Street. Renovated 2024 it’s fully working with some great fun activities and it’s so close kids can go outs and play and be back to the house in under 2 mins ! There is also another kids park at the top of Solva near the shop and a skate park. Walk or park at the football ground. Skate boarding - there is a park up the top of Solva and one in St David’s near the Rugby ground. Wild swimmers - there are daily swimmers who meet for lengths off the jetty near the boat yard and the cafe. Walkers. 5 mins to the coastal path and ask for help with your bags it might be poss if we can.
