Bollington is nestled within the foothills of the Peak District, yet it is only a 10 minute drive from Macclesfield Train Station, which provides a regular train service to London in around 2 hours. It is within 25 minutes of Manchester International Airport, and Manchester city centre is 45 minutes by car or train. Bollington is surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for varied walks and cycles (from easy routes on the Middlewood Way to many challenging hills!). There is also canoeing on the canal and rock climbing in Goyt Valley- you can even rent a narrowboat! Nearby National Trust properties are to be found at Lyme Park, Tatton Park, Little Moreton Hall and Dunham Massey. Chatsworth House is slightly further afield, around 50 minutes away. For children there is a lovely playground minutes away. There are multiple cosy pubs and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk of the cottage, including a lovely local café up the road for coffee, breakfast, lunch and brunch and a very popular deli serving good cheeses, wine and special sandwiches. A cycle, walk or short drive away is the renowned Kickback coffee roastery found in Pott Shrigley, serving delicious cakes and fantastic coffee. For everyday provisions, Co-op local and Tesco Express, the closest being the co-op which is just 10 minutes away by foot. There is a small corner shop a few minutes’ walk away for essentials. CO-OP is the nearest in the centre of Bollington.a 15 minute walk from the house, open 7 days a week.
