Whether visiting dramatic Kynance Cove (4 miles), basking on Kennack Sands beach (2.5 miles), or taking to the surf at Poldhu Cove (4 miles) there’re a host of fun activities & stunning scenery right on the doorstep. Comfortable and relaxing, the cottage’s cosy feel is perfect for returning home to – just beware never wanting to leave!

Hello! I am Jacob, a graduate of English Literature & Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia in England. I grew up in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India, which might be why I love travelling and exploring new places. I went to school in Cornwall, and recently moved back to help run my parents’ business and reopen their holiday cottage. In between running, swimming and hiking up mountains, I am enthusiastic about sharing this slice of Cornwall with visitors from around the world. Chough Cottage is tucked away in a relatively remote location, but a perfect one for accessing all corners of the gorgeous Lizard Peninsular. From here, it is a mere 10-minute drive to the nearest beach, and also close to a whole host of famous beauty spots. These include: world-famous Kynance Cove; Lizard village and lighthouse (the most southerly point of mainland Britain!); Mullion village and harbour; the adorable fishing hamlet of Cadgwith; Poldhu Cove (a surfer’s paradise!); Goonhilly Downs and the famous Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station; the sailing Mecca of Helford Estuary; and Roskilly’s Farm & Ice Cream Parlour. If you’re here for a longer stay, the rest of West Cornwall is within reach too. The cheery port/university town of Falmouth is 20 miles away; charming Penzance 22 miles; artsy St. Ives 25 miles; and Lands End 32 miles. We know this part of Cornwall really well, so will happily give you loads more suggestions should you need them! The cottage is entirely surrounded by peaceful farmland – being off the beaten track means no noisy traffic (though you might hear cows, foxes and seagulls!) Sorry, but there is no pub within reasonable walking distance. We highly recommend arriving by, and having access to, a car.
