This is a lovely cottage full of character that's very well equipped. Short drive to Bridport and the coast. The nearby pub is really nice - we had an excellent meal there.

Laurel cottage is nestled in the Dorset hills just 10 minutes from the beach and the market town of Bridport. The cottage is cosy, quirky and offers plenty of space to sit back and relax. It offers a large open plan kitchen diner that opens out onto the quiet private garden, perfect for alfresco dining. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large electric range and all the mod cons to whip up a three course meal or just throw a pizza in the oven. The living room has a large wood burning stove to test your fire lighting skills and if successful will delight you with a glowing atmosphere whilst you challenge your friends or family to a good board game or just chill out and watch a film on the smart TV. Upstairs we offer a comfortable king size bedroom with large vaulted ceilings and views out to the countryside. A twin room with a standard size single and a small single bed is available. A sofa bed in the living room is also available upon request. A quiet private garden is accessed straight off the kitchen diner, perfect for alfresco dining. We provide a coal BBQ to cook up the catch of the day from the harbour in Bridport or sling a few Dorset sausages on there! There is outdoor seating for 6 to soak up the rays while you enjoy your meal in the fresh countryside air. We welcome dogs into the property, we have a dog bed and some food and water bowls. We try to leave a spare lead and some doggy bags in case you run out. A fee of Fifteen pounds per pet up to a maximum of two dogs will apply. The cottage has some quirky flooring in places due to the age of the property so people a little unsteady on their feet may struggle in places. There is parking for one vehicle at the property. We supply board-games and a pub walking kit that consists of some hi-vis jackets and a flashy torch to trundle up to the local pub just 10 minutes away.
Nicholas and i live in Dorset and love the countryside. We love nothing more than giving people a reason to come and explore what's on our back door. Nicholas and i try to provide comfortable, well equipped and clean spaces for all to enjoy.
Melplash is located just 10 minutes north of the lovely market town of Bridport. The town is bustling with small local shops and regular markets, as well as the nearby village of West bay (Broadchurch was filmed) with its stunning Jurassic coastal beaches, quaint little harbours and plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. North of Melplash lies the Dorset village of Beaminster, clustered with local shops, cafes and pubs. The cottage is surrounded with miles of open countryside with the south coast path just 10 minutes away and many more footpaths zig-zagging across Dorset on your doorstep. And if you are in need of a tipple there are many pubs in the surrounding area to get yourself some proper pub grub along with plenty of fine dining restaurants available.
