This detached cottage, adjacent to the owner’s home and caravan site, is set in the little quaint village of Ebberston, which is situated between Pickering and Scarborough. A little stream runs all the way through the village, and is surrounded by traditional Yorkshire wall gardens and flowers hanging down to the water. An array of daffodils greets you if you are lucky enough to visit when they are in flower. At the top of the village, you have some wonderful woodland walks that can take you right up into Dalby Forest. Walking through the woods you will come across a small monument known as Alfred’s Tower. This monument was erected in 1790 to mark a cave site in the hillside where King Alchfrid, a king of Northumbria, rested in 704AD having been wounded in battle. From this site you have views all the way down the valley and across the Yorkshire Wolds. Dalby Forest is part of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and with over 8,000 acres of woodland to explore, you will enjoy the walks it has to offer as well as the fantastic mountain bike trails.
