Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Newly refurbished 2 bedroom cottage situated a short walk from Loch Ken . Surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife. Situated on our working sheep farm ,at the back of our farmhouse in the stunning dark sky area of Galloway Forest Park .
The cottage sits at the back of our farmhouse so we are on hand if you need anything at all. we are a working farm so they will be animal noises and some times tractors etc but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
The area has lots to offer with its beautiful unspoilt scenery, with walks around the local area and lots of lots of local wildlife. Theres a Red Kite trail where you can watch them being fed and the Deer park both are a 15-minute drive away in the Galloway Forest Park.
The food town of Castle Douglas is 13 miles away with lots of lovely shops and a range of cafes and restaurants.
The local pub The Clachan Inn is an award-winning pub serving mouth-watering food and Fine Ales, booking is essential ( at least a week in advance) to avoid disappointment.
There is a village shop in Balmaclellan which has a large variety of stock for all your needs.
Things to do-
There is lots of parking at the farm and buses do run straight past but aren’t very frequent . Ebikes can be rented from the near by village of New Galloway at the cat strand
