We are happy to communicate with all guests as much as necessary but will otherwise leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email with full arrival instructions and all the information you need to check in at your leisure. Check-in is from 4pm, unless one of our early check-in options has been purchased. Check-out is strictly 10am, unless a late check-out option has been added to your booking. Check-in is via a secure key box; you will receive your unique key box code 7 days prior to arrival. Just 50 yards or so from the sand, Craigallan is a characterful end-terraced cottage on Earlsferry High Street – a brilliant base for beach days, coastal walks and golf getaways on this iconic stretch of the East Neuk. Traditional on the outside and comfortably updated inside, it comes with Wi-Fi, an enclosed rear garden and a side lane that leads directly up to the golf course, so you can be on the fairway or the shoreline in minutes. The cottage is also pet friendly (supplement applies), making it a great choice for dog-friendly breaks by the sea. Step inside to a welcoming reception hall leading to the front sitting room, where window shutters, a decorative fireplace, leather sofa, armchairs and soft lighting create a relaxed, homely feel. A couple of steps take you up into the bright shaker-style kitchen/dining room, which can be left open for easy flow or closed off with opaque glass sliding doors. Here you’ll find a gas hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and microwave, along with a generous dining table seating 6–8 – ideal for family suppers or lingering evenings after a day on the beach or the links. There’s also a handy utility area with washer/dryer, a ground-floor twin bedroom, and a fresh, upgraded bathroom (2022) with bath, overhead shower and vanity unit. Upstairs, Craigallan offers flexible sleeping for families and sharing guests. The front double bedroom includes an additional single bed, built-in wardrobes, TV and plenty of drawer space, while a second double bedroom enjoys windows to both the front and rear. A separate shower room with cubicle, wash hand basin and WC serves this floor, keeping mornings and post-beach showers running smoothly. Outside, the secluded patio-style garden is fully enclosed and can be accessed either through the kitchen’s patio doors or via a lockable gate from the lane – ideal for safely storing bikes and beach gear and offering extra peace of mind for guests with children. Award-winning sands stretch from Elie Harbour to Earlsferry, creating almost a mile of safe, family-friendly shoreline that’s perfect for swimming, paddling and long coastal walks. The sheltered bay is a hub for watersports, with sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking and windsurfing all available from Elie Harbour and Elie Watersports.
