As hosts we enjoy greeting our guests and ensuring their stay is a memorable one.
During our free time we enjoy getting outdoors roaming the countryside near and far. There is so much beauty in this part of the world whether you are climbing, walking, fishing, golfing or into wildlife photography. The outdoor activities are numerous.
For our musical visitors we have a piano in the guest lounge. We also have a good range of books to sit and read by the fire on an evening and a number of games if you're feeling competitive.
Property information
Crubenbeg Country House is nestled within the Cairngorms National Park and has some spectacular walks within a close radius. The stunning Falls of Truim on our doorstep or challenge yourself to a climb up Crubenbeg Hill located behind the house. From this vantage point you will gain some spectacular views across the Spey Valley to the West and Glen Truim looking East.
Set just off the A9 and 5 miles from the picturesque town of Newtonmore, Crubenbeg Country House offers accommodation with a bar and dining, private parking, a guest lounge and a garden. It is situated 9 miles from the Highland Folk Museum and 9 miles from Ruthven Barracks (with a history of their own). In the winter we are not too far from the beautiful ski slopes of Cairngorms and can provide ski storage space if required. Hiking and cycling are also on our doorstep in the most beautiful surroundings. For the golfers we have Kingussie Golf Club which is close by and Boat of Garten Golf Club being only 26 miles from the house. The Highland Wildlife Park is 12 miles away. The nearest airport is at Inverness and is approximately 54 miles from the house.
The guest house rooms are all well equipped with a wardrobe, flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, and bathrobes. All bed linen and towels are provided and the rooms are all allergy free.
The Guest lounge has a cosy fire where guests can relax, read and recline in our robust sofas after enjoying a day of outdoor activities or after an informal evening meal in our dining room. Please give us 48 hours notice is you wish to dine here. As the seasons are changing we are now offering a lighter option (Soup, Panini & Cake/Dessert). Please let us know at time of booking.
The house offers a full hot breakfast and we have an extensive breakfast menu which offers many other options including vegetarian.

Neighbourhood information
The town of Newtonmore is located approximately 5 miles from the house. Local amenities include a post office, chemist, cafes, restaurants, museums and a shop for any essentials you may need.
Walking, Climbing & Mountaineering (Munros, Corbetts and Donalds) all achievable in a day's outing from Crubenbeg House.
Cycling - There are various cycles routes around Loch Insch, Rothiemurchus and Alvie Estates, Closer to home would include Glen Truim, Etteridge and Phoines Estates. This is a network of mountain bike forest trails covering 20 miles which is suitable for all abilities. Bike hire is available in Kingussie. The WolfTrax Mountain Biking Centre at Laggan is close by.
Watersports - 20 minutes from Crubenbeg House Loch Insh Watersports offers equipment hire and tuition for sailing, canoeing and windsurfing, together with kayak safaris on the River Spey.
Fishing - The Rothiemurchus Fishery, Aviemore
Golf - Newtonmore & Kingussie (Both offering different levels of course).
Horse Riding - Highland Horse Fun, Kingussie
Wildlife - Highland Wildlife Park, Kingussie
Skiing & Snowboarding - The Cairngorms (30 minutes from here) are Scotland's premier ski area, with Downhill, Telemark, Nordic and snowboarding are all catered for. The Nevis Range is a further 45 minutes away.

NC500 - Starts & finishes at Inverness located approximately 54 miles from Crubenbeg Country House. A great stopover for those taking part.
