Our cottage in Snowdonia, is a Wales Tourist Board 4 STAR stone built cottage set in a secluded location in the Lledr Valley – one of the most beautiful valleys in the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms. Sorry but we do not allow pets and we are a non smoking property. A stream runs past the cottage and on through our fifteen acres of land toward the River Lledr. In springtime Welsh poppies and wild flowers line the winding lane to the cottage, and bluebells carpet the rocky outcrop on the riverbank. The River Lledr flows alongside the lower field and is home to many species of birds including king-fishers, herons, wagtails, dippers and indeed the cottage itself is ideal for bird spotting with buzzards and crows battling it out in the skies, and swifts and swallows nesting in the eves. Anglers have access from the lower field to the river bank and the deep pool below the weir, where, if you are patient, you might see the salmon leaping out of the water. (Fishing licences are available from Shop in Dolwyddelan)
Enjoy days out on the Conwy Valley Railway Line. Leave the car at the cottage and catch the train and you can be on a beautiful Welsh beach within an hour (at Llandudno) or visiting the World Heritage site of Conwy with its medieval castle and town walls. The quaint railway station at Pont y Pant is just a short walk, 400 yards, down the lane, but don’t forget to hold your hand out to stop the train ! There are many walks in the Lledr valley – straight from the gate. With some walks you will need walking boots and a good map, or just set off along the lane to local attractions through beautiful scenery on the banks of the Lledr river. Dolmurgoch is approximately 1 mile from the charming village of Dolwyddelan (with Pub and Spar shop), and 4 miles from the popular inland resort of Betws y Coed. For mountain walkers there are several of Wales’s highest peaks within a few miles, as the crow flies, with the lower slopes of Moel Siabod (872 m, 2,861 ft) being just a few hundred yards north of Dolmurgoch. Dolmurgoch is ideally placed for Mountain Biking enthusiasts being close to the Penmachno, Blaenau Ffestiniog (Antur Stiniog), and Gwydir Forest MB Trails
