Let Eden Cottage be your home-from-home while you relax, recharge, and enjoy everything this beautiful part of the country has to offer.
Hi, we’re Kate and Mark, and we’ve lovingly renovated this cottage ourselves—from the oak flooring to the bright, airy kitchen with bifold doors opening out to the garden. We’ve taken care to keep its character too—look out for the original 19th-century indenture framed in the dining room.
We moved to this beautiful part of Cheshire in 2001 and raised our children here. We still love exploring local walks with our dog, trying out new restaurants, and popping into Chester for shopping and a bite to eat. If you're after recommendations, we’re always happy to share our favourites.
We take real pride in the cottage—from fresh paintwork to a well-kept garden—and want it to feel like a true home-from-home for every guest. Whether you're here to unwind, explore, or just enjoy time with loved ones, we hope Eden Cottage is the perfect base for your stay.
Guests love how peaceful it is here—Eden Cottage sits down a quiet private lane where you can hear birdsong by day and enjoy wonderfully dark skies at night. One of our neighbours has even built his own observatory! We’ve added a torch to the back door key for late-night strolls or heading down the lane to the local pub.
It’s a very safe, friendly area with beautiful local walks right on your doorstep. You’re at the start of the Sandstone Trail—one of Cheshire’s most scenic routes—and close to other historical gems like the ancient St Lawrence Church, mentioned in the Domesday Book. The village has a fascinating Bee heritage too, reflected in public art and local stories.
We originally moved here because it’s an easy commute into Manchester, yet feels a world away—calm, green and full of character. There are cosy pubs (many dog-friendly), great independent shops and cafés, and all the essentials nearby, including supermarkets and takeaways. You’re also within easy reach of Chester, Delamere Forest, North Wales and Liverpool—making this a perfect base for walkers, families and anyone wanting to explore this beautiful part of the North West.
