Built from scratch by the owner, this unique shepherd’s hut is the perfect place to explore the beautiful Somerset & Devon countryside. Elmhut is small but perfectly formed and retains all the comforts of home and more – a very comfortable king size bed, cosy seating area, separate bathroom and powerful shower, and a neat but fully equipped kitchen. In the private garden, there is space and facilities to enjoy the peaceful wood fired hot tub, firepit/BBQ with a view of the passing steam trains. We have chosen a traditional Ofuro Japanese hot tub which is the perfect size for couples and is peacefully quiet. For the rainy days, there’s also underfloor heating throughout, Wifi, satellite tv with a vast library of DVDs, and a cosy corner to read a book. All newly furnished to ensure the greatest comfort throughout your stay, Elmhut is the perfect choice for your escape to the countryside. Nestled in a quiet corner of a village, and with views of the hills, the steam train and the sea, the private garden with hot tub is the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

ElmHut is located in a quiet village 3 miles from the Somerset coast. It is surrounded by numerous footpaths to explore and is not far from the popular Steam Coast Trail that can take you all the way to Watchet, Dunster or the local West Somerset Railway station. We are located on the edge of Exmoor and only 5 minutes away from the nearest beach. If walks and beaches aren't your thing, we are surrounded by lots of beautiful villages full of character where you can browse the shops or tuck into a cream tea (cream first of course!). As ElmHut is located in a small village, there aren't any local buses that pass by directly. However the nearest bus stop is located about half a mile walk away (country lane) on the A39 where you can pick up buses to take you to Minehead, Taunton and beyond.
