Charming cottage with cosy log fire and comfy bed. Lovely dog walks to dog friendly pubs. We walked to the White Horse across the field for pizza and had a lovely meal at Kersey Mill.

We loved the peaceful, beautiful location and how cozy and charming the cottage was. The fenced orchard was exactly what our anxious dog needed. Mark was a very welcoming host and shared lots of ideas for country walks where to find the best pub....

Company information

Hi I’m Mark After travelling the world, I decided to settle down in Suffolk twenty years ago and started my own little business with a beautiful old derelict farm complex, which I converted into six lovely little cottages for people to escape from city life and enjoy the wonderfully rural experience that this area amazingly has, despite its close proximity to London. I love what I do and am ‘Hands On’ with welcoming guests to my own six cottages, as well as looking after my Cottage Agency 'The Grove Cottages' that soon developed as other owners came asking me to take on their cottages and give them the same level of personal customer care, attention, and promotion that we are known and appreciated for. I don’t want to be a huge company, I’m very happy to have a small agency where personal involvement is always the priority and where I can pick only places which I love and know inside out to join us. I am always available to answer any questions and above all else I want you to be in a cottage that suits you, so you will become our ambassador. Please do ask me a question about this cottage and I will give you a very honest answer. Best Wishes Mark - The Grove Cottages

Property information

Farm Cottage is very, very cosy This romantic little Farm Cottage has hardly changed since 1690 when it was built, it has a very contented and peaceful atmosphere about it, in a wonderful part of this pretty area of Suffolk. This bright little period Farm cottage with a roaring fire is ideal for dog owners as it has gardens, and an acre of dog exercise Orchard, with a Dog Washing Station complete with white fluffy towels for pampered pets :) There are footpaths into the fields straight from the cottage leading to our Local Pub which has its own Micro Brewery and is pet friendly. Awarded 4 Star GOLD by VisitEngland for exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service for every year since 2009. Superfast Broadband is supplied to this cottage. We also supply bicycles to our guests to explore the tiny country lanes which wind their way round famous Suffolk Villages like Kersey, and always seem to lead to a charming country pub – (if you follow my map routes they will). Downstairs is a sitting room/diner with an open log fire, round the corner is a well-equipped galley kitchen. Upstairs there is a master bedroom, a shower bathroom, and a small single bedroom. As you warm your toes by the log fire you can imagine how this charming farm workers cottage has been used and loved over the centuries. 2 well behaved doggies are welcome. Banned Dogs: Please also note that if you are considering bringing a dog breed which may be thought of as a danger or a concern to others, then Please check with us first before booking and we will discuss the suitability of our cottage. There is a 20 Pound charge per pet for up to 7 nights. Please note that cottage owners cannot accept pets that have not been paid for. Deposits and Cancelations: There is a 20% deposit with balances due 30 days before arrival – full refunds are given up to 30 days before arrival. You also get a 24-hour Grace Period when making a booking up until 7 days before arrival

Neighbourhood information

The Old Grove Farm, is set in open countryside and surrounded by Gardens and a one acre dog exercise Orchard, it is made up of ancient brick buildings, which were a farm workers cottage, winnowing barns, dairies and bakeries. It has a large central courtyard with a long open barn with bicycles, BBQ’s, tables and benches, it is lit at night by fairy lights and creates a double quadrangle, the buildings are now converted into 6 much loved holiday cottages with individual entrances from different areas affording guests a high degree of privacy. It is where our little business started and where we are based. While being very rural, civilisation is just a 10-minute car drive away and will get you to shops, swimming pools, etc. Your cottage is a very special place that is loved by guests and perfect for a romantic escape to the lovely Suffolk countryside. Kersey, a delightful Medieval village, is a 10 minute bike amble down the lane from us, and has an excellent Pub by the ford for thirsty cyclists. Lavenham ‘England’s best preserved Medieval Village’ is just 4 miles away. This is a place where you can feel a million miles away from City life, really relax and enjoy just being part of.
