49 The Rest is a contemporary, interior designed ground floor two bedroom apartment, set in the private grounds of a newly restored Victorian listed building. The property is a stone’s throw from the Blue Flag beach of Rest Bay, and a two minute walk from the award winning Royal Porthcawl golf course.

I grew up in Porthcawl, and as a child spent almost every free moment at Rest Bay beach. I have many happy memories of days spent exploring the rock pools, building sandcastles and playing in the surf. My wife, Fiona, and I now live in South West London with our two young children. In 2022 we bought 49 The Rest so that our children can spend time at the beach, making memories with their grandparents who all live locally. We spend about 6 weeks a year in Porthcawl and have furnished the flat as though it were our home with high quality furniture. We are really lucky to have an amazing host, Beth, who lives locally, taking care of the flat and our guests.

A pristine beach, surfing, kite surfing, coastal walks, great restaurants, cozy pubs and incredible golf courses are all close by. Our amazing host will be able to help you with suggestions and tips for your stay.
