A nice quiet space and very private despite being in the bustling market square in the centre of Ludlow. Private parking is available at my B&B (Tallow House) which is about 5 minutes away.
Hi, I'm Amanda. I live 5 minutes walk away from the property and I am happy to give recommendations on where to go in Ludlow, whether you want advice on which one of the numerous restaurants and cafes you should dine in (you are really spoilt for choice!), or where to go for a scenic stroll. Again, you have your pick of beautiful walks. I am always a phone call / text away.
Ludlow is famous for its castle ruins which are just 2 minutes walk from the property. Climb the tower and take in the breathtaking views of the river Teme below and surrounding forest and rolling Shropshire hills. The castle's wall are linked to Ludlow's medieval town wall circuit on the south and east sides. Ludlow's town centre was carefully planned by the Normans and the rectangular street plan can still be seen in the medieval heart of the town.
St Laurence's Church is a 2 minute walk to the other side of the property. It's been described as the "cathedral of the Marches" and it's the 13th most popular free visitor attraction in the West Midlands.
Once you have taken in the town itself it's well worth a visit to the Linney riverside park for a leisurely picnic or cross Dinham Bridge and walk by the river on the historic Bread Walk, where if you are lucky you will spot a heron, kingfisher or otter! Whitcliffe Common is also well worth a ramble, and a favourite spot among townspeople and visitors is the view of the town from the top of the common.
