A level 15 minute walk across open fields takes you in to the nearest town of South Molton where you will find local pubs and restaurants to dine locally. The estuary town of Barnstaple a further 10 miles away and to the south, the Cathedral city of Exeter provides varied shopping, leisure and visitor opportunities. There is local hacking on the bridleways on Exmoor and we can recommend local stables for you to enjoy the open countryside. Exmoor National Park has been designated an International Dark Sky Reserve, the first place in Europe to achieve this prestigious award. The South West Coastal Path and the Tarka Trail are within easy reach. Cyclists can join The West Country Way National Cycle Route, The Tarka Trail and The Devon Coast to Coast routes. Nearby South Molton is an historic Georgian town with a thriving, twice weekly traditional country pannier market. There are a selection of independent shops, cafes and tearooms and we would recommend a visit. South Molton also has a swimming pool and the Quince Honey Farm is a great attraction The fishing villages of Appledore, Instow and Clovelly are within easy reach. Day trips can be made to Lundy Island.
