Minutes away from the beautiful Lopwell Dam and River Tavy, Maristow Cottages sit in a haven for wildlife and is superb for birdwatching - excellent walking and cycling routes run nearby. The cottages are immaculate, stone buildings on the edge of Dartmoor. They sit within two acres of grounds, which include the owners' home. You can explore the gardens or enjoy the stunning views down to the river from the private patios, in each cottage. The sitting rooms are warm and comfortable, with smart TVs and the kitchens very well equipped, with dishwashers, electric cookers and microwaves. The utility rooms are equipped with washing machines. Our newly renovated Coach House has a log burner in the cosy, sitting room and Foxgloves Cottage is equipped with comprehensive underfloor heating throughout. We now have solar power and both cottages will be supported by this energy source for all electricity. We are in easy reach of Dartmoor or the coast and have superb countryside in an area classified as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are an extremely quiet area where there is limited light pollution which lends itself to fantastic displays of stars at night. The hosts live onsite and are available to assist if guests want to ask questions or seek advice, we are always happy to help. A beautiful rural location on the edge of Dartmoor. Near to the River Tavy and the pretty Lopwell Dam. Great for walking and bird-watching and ideal for wild swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking or canoeing. Stunning views across the moor nearby with wild ponies, sheep and cattle grazing. There are also off-road cycle-paths interspersed within close proximity of our cottages. Yelverton is close by and Tavistock, a pretty market town with an ancient covered market, is a short drive away, as is the larger city of Plymouth. From the city , you can catch a ferry to Cawsand / Kingsand, where there are some beautiful coastal walks or just hop on a coastal cruise to see for yourself the stunning, coastline. There are free car parks available across Dartmoor and the local towns of Yelverton and Tavistock have plenty of parking. A Park and Ride scheme operates in Plymouth, with many car parks and on-street parking as an alternative. Numerous supermarkets are nearby with Tesco Superstore and a Lidl being the nearest, other than the smaller Co-Op in Yelverton village itself. We are less than a mile away from our local Pub "The Who'd Have Thought It Inn" in Milton Combe which serves hot food and has a number of events on throughout the week. A friendly, rural neighbourhood, with few cars , stunning vistas and a great night sky!
