We had a change of career a few years ago, and purchased a small number of holiday cottages in the Peak District. We were then asked by a number of owners to look after their cottage for them too. George Mine Barn is a stone built barn on the edge of Bolehill and just a short walk into Wirksworth. Situated at the end of a farm lane, the barn is surrounded by farmland and has views over nearby Wirksworth. Centrally located in a beautiful part of the Peak District, this is an ideal location for exploring on foot with lovely walks from the doorstep, riding a bike through the many quiet lanes and footpaths of the area, or visiting the many visitor attractions nearby.

Bolehill is an attractive village rising up the hillside just half a mile north of Wirksworth. Sheltered below Barrel Edge, there are some magnificent panoramic views from Bolehill. The village looks to its larger neighbour Wirksworth for its’ facilities. A short walk away are the gritstone outcrops of Black Rocks, popular with climbers, it has a good picnic site and yet more panoramic views. The High Peak Trail is at the north of the village, where the Steeple Grange Light Railway is run by enthusiasts and operates trains on summer weekends. .
