Hartland Hideaway Lodge is in a very quiet, private location along the side of a valley (on a former golf club site). We spent a lot of time and thought making sure that the lodge is comfortable, cozy and has all you need for a great holiday. It's a Scandinavian wooden lodge with a very stylish interior.
The main bedroom has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. There are two twin rooms and a further bathroom with a shower cubicle. All of the bedrooms have wardrobes and drawers. The living area is open plan with a kitchen with all that you need for self-catering, including a dishwasher so you can relax after a meal! There is a dining table for six people and two very comfortable sofas. We have a selection of board games and DVDs as well as Sky TV and a PS2 Play Station with games and satellite wiFi.
There are patio doors that lead from the sitting area to a deck with outdoor seating for six people.
There is a parking space for two cars directly in front of the lodge.
The views from the lodge are looking over trees and farmland, surrounded by nature.
There are no play facilities on site for children.
There is no access to either golf or fishing with this lodge.
Dogs are welcome, but not in the bedrooms.
Welcome! It’s a true joy to have you as our guests. We've poured our hearts into every detail of this place, carefully choosing everything to ensure you can relax and fully enjoy the beauty and tranquility around you. Quality, comfort, and a warm atmosphere have been our top priorities from the very beginning.
For us, hosting is not just something we do — it’s something we genuinely love. Knowing that people leave here with beautiful memories, smiles, and a desire to return means the world to us. We appreciate nature, thoughtfully crafted spaces, and simple, meaningful moments with loved ones — and we hope you’ll feel the same during your stay.
We’re happy to have you here!
The lodge is situated within the Hartland Forest, surrounded by acres of Forestry Commission land. The lanes around the site are quiet and rural. The village of Woolsery (also known as Woolfardisworthy) is 3 miles from the lodge and has a shop, great pub and chip shop.
A drive of about 1.5 miles takes you from the lodge to the A39 which gives you access to explore the whole of North Devon and North Cornwall. Clovelly is about 15 minutes away and the amazing beaches at Bude and Westward Ho! are about 25 minutes. We recommend a trip to Appledore and Instow...both are stunning with fabulous places to eat and drink.
If you're keen to cycle, the Tarka Trail is nearby and provides miles of safe cycling in beautiful scenery. If you're a walker, you're spoilt for choice; the South-West coast path is nearby as well as numerous other walks. There is an OS map mounted in the lodge to help you plan your walks.
We provide an information pack to give you plenty of ideas of where to go as well as dog-friendly places. We're always happy to be contacted if you need more advice!
