High Bank is a charming end of terrace property with three bedrooms; one double, one twin and one bedroom with bunk beds sitting at the foot of Hawkcombe, an enchanting wooded valley. The ground floor comprises a pretty cottage dining room with woodburner stove; the kitchen which is well equipped with dishwasher and electric range cooker with six rings, a grill and two ovens; a large utility room with fridge/freezer, washing machine, sink and downstairs toilet; lounge with woodburner, TV, books and games; conservatory and sliding glass doors to the patio. Upstairs are three bedrooms a bathroom and a shower room. Opposite the cottage (across the small road) steps lead down to a private garden area beside the river, take a book and enjoy listening to the river running by! Please note, the steps down to the riverside garden are steep and due to the location, children must be supervised. The speed/flow of the river can vary considerably depending on the time of year and recent rainfall. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or leave them unattended in the cottage at any time.

The road outside the cottage turns into a bridleway further up the combe, which then leads all the way up to Hawkcombe Head, high on the moors above - a great walk if you are looking for a challenge! The village of Porlock is within walking distance from the front door. Porlock is a wonderful working Exmoor village boasting three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional butcher, chemist, cash machine, petrol station, hardware shop, visitor centre, art galleries and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms. There are many, many walks to be enjoyed on Exmoor. From the front door of High Bank, turn right and you are on a trail up Ley Coombe on to the moor; a moderate 6.5 mile walk takes you up to Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor's highest point. A gentle two mile walk, heading down the hill and through Porlock village brings you to Bossington beach and from there you can turn right and explore Bossington Hill, and a lovely woodland trail brings you from there to Selworthy village and its famously picturesque white church.
