Highfield is a small sheep farm. In open countryside 4 miles from Hay-on-Wye (town of books) situated at the head of the Golden Valley overlooking the Wye Valley.
En -suite bedrooms with beverage tray, home made cakes, hair drier, and flat screen tv.
Built in 1998 in cottage style the room are neutrally decorated and traditionally furnished.
Our breakfast menu includes traditional English breakfast, or one of Highfield specials (which at the moment is) - smoked salmon with scrambled egg, home made savoury scone with mushrooms and a poached egg or banana on toast. Homemade preserves and bread, home grown raspberries, strawberries ,rhubarb, apples and plumbs (when in season) served with fresh yogurt. Meat sourced locally from the Golden Valley.

This beautiful unspoiled part of Herefordshire is a good base to stay while visiting the Welsh Marches.
You may wish to visit some of the many small market towns Hay-on-Wye, Brecon, Builth Wells, Abergavenny, and Monmouth in Wales or the English towns of Kington, Ludlow, Ross-on-Wye and Leominster.
The city of Hereford is 17 miles away with the Cathedral, the Chained Library and the Mappa Mundi. The Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Offas Dyle are close by.
There is a wealth of churches and ruined castles as well as Dore Abbey, Arthurs Stone and charming Black and White villages.
Plenty of outdoor activities to pursue cycling, horse riding, canoeing or walking as well as numerous restaurants and village pubs.
