We are an easy going couple who gladly chats and welcomes our guests. The lodges are connected to our home so all of our care and attention goes into the rooms to ensure our guests have everything they need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We might even bump into you in the local pub next door! We thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and hearing about people’s adventures up and down from Scotland and the south of the country.

Cumwhinton is a quiet village, with beautiful houses and floral gardens. It is a peaceful retreat whilst only being a few minutes outside of the buzzing city of Carlisle! When arriving at Hollyside Lodge, you will have a dedicated parking space in the driveway to the (signposted Lodge 1 or 2). The pathway to the lodges is down the side of the garage, follow the path round to the left to locate your own private entrance. A key coded box will be on the wall - the code for this key box is sent to our guests at least 48 hours before arrival. You will be provided with all of the basics and more! Whilst we welcome pets at Hollyside Lodge we do ask that they do not sleep on the bed to ensure they are kept fresh and comfortable for other guests 😊. There is also a bin in the garden for any little accidents 🐾 💩 The Lowther Arms public house is just a few seconds walk away; the food is great and is a nice cosy local pub. Unfortunately, the Lowther Arms do not allow dogs inside the pub. They do allow dogs outside and you can also eat out there (weather dependent). The pubs in the next villages do allow dogs and are both around 1.5miles away. If you have a well behaved fur baby, we are happy for you to leave the dog in your lodge if this helps.
