Jasmine Cottage is a cosy yet modern retreat in the heart of Audlem. We’ve renovated it with a lot of care, mixing the charm of a traditional English cottage with the comfort and finish of a high-quality contemporary space. From soft furnishings to the thoughtful lighting and layout, everything is designed to feel calming, warm and a little bit special.
We love creating spaces that people genuinely enjoy being in, and we want guests to feel at home the moment they walk through the door. Whether you’re here to unwind, explore the countryside or enjoy village life, we’re always happy to share local tips, favourite walks and great places to eat. Audlem has a friendly, welcoming feel, and we hope Jasmine Cottage gives you the perfect base to experience it.
Hi, I’m James. I run an online plant nursery with Sophie, and we spend much of the year travelling around the country for RHS flower shows. We love creating spaces that people really enjoy being in, and renovating Jasmine Cottage has been a passion project from start to finish.
We’re relaxed travellers ourselves and like to arrive somewhere and just settle into the rhythm of the place — that’s exactly the kind of experience we hope to give our guests. Audlem has such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and we felt that special village charm from our very first visit. If you need tips on local walks, places to eat or things to explore, we’re always happy to help. We want your stay to feel easy, comfortable and memorable.
Audlem is a truly special corner of Cheshire, offering an elegant blend of village charm, natural beauty and refined rural living — the perfect setting for a relaxing and memorable stay at Jasmine Cottage. The neighbourhood feels peaceful yet vibrant, with everything you need just a short stroll away.
The Shropshire Union Canal is one of the village’s most distinctive features: a picturesque waterway lined with historic locks, beautifully maintained towpaths and tranquil views. Morning walks along the canal are a favourite with guests, offering a serene start to the day, while leisurely afternoons can be spent watching boats drift by or stopping for refreshments overlooking the water. The nearby Overwater Marina adds to the area’s unique character with its calm, scenic atmosphere and charming canal-side setting.
Audlem offers an excellent selection of places to eat and drink, all within walking distance. The Shroppie Fly provides a stylish yet relaxed place to enjoy a drink by the canal, while The White Lion combines a refined country-pub ambiance with high-quality dining and a beautifully designed terrace. For something lighter, Number 11 offers a sophisticated café experience with homemade dishes and a warm, welcoming feel.
Beyond the village, the wider area offers plenty to explore. The historic market town of Nantwich is a short drive away, known for its black-and-white architecture, boutique shops and superb independent restaurants. Slightly further afield, the city of Chester offers a full day out of culture, heritage and riverside walks. The surrounding countryside is dotted with scenic footpaths, peaceful lanes and charming villages, making Audlem an ideal base for both gentle strolls and longer, scenic adventures.
Guests consistently comment on the friendly atmosphere in Audlem, the quality of its local amenities and the sense of calm that comes from staying somewhere with such character and charm. Whether you’re here to unwind, celebrate a special occa
