Refurbished traditional stone-built self-catering farmhouse sleeping 8 guests in 4 en suite bedrooms (1 twin is downstairs). One of 5 self-catering cottages arranged around the courtyard, set on our working sheep farm in idyllic hill country. Indoor hot tub in a separate building seats 7 available to all cottages. Large dining room (can be arranged to seat a group of up to 32) opening into cosy sitting room. Enjoy cooking in the spacious fully-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar seating 8 (food and drinks are not provided for safety reasons). Ideal for a relaxing getaway for family or friends- enjoy walking or cycling from the door. Well-behaved dogs (max. 2) welcome by arrangement in advance (charge applicable). Private furnished patio. Lock-up garage and washing facility for cycles.
We enjoy welcoming guests to Cynghordy Estate, which has been run by the our family since 1916. We breed and show pedigree North Country Cheviot sheep and manage the woodlands. We live nearby- catch us working on the farm!
Guests can explore our 350 acre Cynghordy Estate, including our remote hill farm. Digital maps showing rights of way in the surrounding area are available on request. Set in unspoilt north-east Carmarthenshire, wooded hill country. Discover Cynghordy viaduct, Llyn Brianne dam, waterfalls, castles, Bannau Brycheiniog, the Cambrian mountains, caves, the National Botanic Gardens, Aberglasney gardens and glorious beaches on the south and west coast. Shops and restaurants available in the pretty nearby market town of Llandovery (5 miles) . Near Llanwrtyd Wells, home of bog snorkelling and Man v Horse. Relax in the indoor hot tub seating 7 (*bookable, normally available 10am-5pm)- please note it may be closed by the owners at any time for essential maintenance without notice or compensation to any guest. Kestrel is set on our working sheep farm so dogs need to be on a lead outdoors- and remain downstairs indoors. No caravans, mobile homes and tents.
