Building finished approx 2009, built by current owners. Refreshing rooms on a continual basis, Stan is currently painting as I write this! The rooms are modern, with the Room 4 being on the ground floor. All rooms have power showers which are great when you need to wake up.
The mature garden backs onto fields, this again is a continual refreshment and enhancement by Tricia.
Stan and Tricia have lived in Felsted for the last 18 years, in which time they built the house that you stay in themselves, this took about 7 years with weekend building - and yes we are still together!!!
One of the main historic items of interest about Felsted is that Oliver Cromwell's son was educated in the the old school in front of the historic church. The school is still in use but has expanded into a large private school with many international pupils from as far away as China and Japan.
Felsted has a local shop, about 1/2 mile from Laurels and a tea room. There is also a Chinese restaurant and The Swan the local pub with food in the centre.
Great Dunmow is 5 miles away famous for the 'Flitch Trials' which are held every year.
Braintree Freeport is near about 7 mile away where there are many discount designer shops.
Blake End Craft centre - 3 miles - is worthy of a mention with many craft shops and a restaurant and tea shop.
Chelmsford Racecourse - 4 miles - has a ladies day very exciting.
