Lodge is based on a very quiet site, with the lodge itself a couple rows back from the Loch. The Jacobite train runs on the trainline a few minutes walk behind it, so avid train spotters can safely view the "Hogwarts Express" as it goes under the...

Company information

I have played here as a child much like many of our guests. I have also worked here in a variety of different aspects of looking after the park, guests and staff. I have cleaned the caravans, worked in the shop, maintained the gardens and run the office. I moved away from Linnhe for a number of years but came back with my husband and son when my son was little. Now he's the one learning all about how this place ticks, if you buy a fire wood box for a campfire on the beach it will be him that's made it.

Property information

Linnhe was first set up by my grandparents over 50 years ago. We are proud that so many of our guests are now more like family friends who come to visit each year. I think we share something in common, we love this place. It has the most fabulous gardens making the perfect backdrop for the loch views. The gardens are home to much wildlife and offer seclusion to the accommodation. The sunsets are breath taking and a walk along the shore will often reward you with not only wonderful views but sightings of otter or seal. Its also very accessible for the rest of the highlands if you wish to explore and only about 5 miles from Fort William if you want to go into town and have lovely meal. While you are staying at Linnhe you can hire canoes for a paddle down the loch, try out fishing with a rod hired from us, have a campfire on the beach or just relax and enjoy the peace. Nearby are so many walks, beautiful scenery, places made famous by movies such as Harry Potter, The Highlander, Loch Ness, and even animations such as Brave. During the summer our wee shop also bakes croissant and pain chocolat to order so you wont need to worry about breakfast.

Neighbourhood information

I love this area. There are magical walks like the gorge and huge waterfall known as Steal falls with its bonsai style pine trees, 3 strand wire rope bridge (not for the faint hearted) and carved rocks. If you love history then the Old Inverlochy Castle is free and although its a ruin is beautiful and atmospheric. The Jacobite steam train is a must for Harry Potter lovers but do book early as its very popular. Treasures of the Earth is a lovely wee crystal museum which is interesting for all ages. In the summer you can buy tickets for fantastic Scottish dancing and dinner (ceilidh) on the top of the Nevis range ( just a cable car journey away). If you love boat trips then there's plenty to chose from, island hopping to the misty isle of Skye or wee boats to the wee islands of Eigg, Muck or Rum (known for deer) with every chance of seeing whales, dolphin or porpoise. Or sunset cruises up our very own Loch Eil. Alternatively you could take the cruise up Loch Shiel to look for eagles and enjoy views of Bonny Prince Charlie's monument and the viaduct in the Harry Potter movies. So much to do, you might have to come and visit us again. xx
