Little Nut Cottage was completely renovated in 2020/21 by acclaimed London based interior design firm Katharine Pooley Ltd. The cottage is cosy but every detail has been thought through to make this a perfect place to rest after a day out in the wonderful Lakes. Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size with en-suite bath, shower over, basin and WC, 1 x king-size/ Twin with adjacent bathroom including shower, basin and WC. Open-plan living space with kitchen, dining and sitting area with woodburning stove. Decorated to the highest standards. Central heating with woodburning stove. Electric range cooker, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, 3x Smart TVs with Freeview, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Off-road parking for two cars. Secure bike storage. The property also offers guests a generous sized garden with a seating area, fire pit, BBQ and hot tub.
We work as a small team helping with things to do in the Lakes and the basics of key safe check-in / out details. Locally we have a changeover team consisting of a long time Lake district-based couple that can assist should you require anything. Little Nut Cottage is your home though in the heart of the lakes so we hope you enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area.
The cottage is situated in a highly desirable position at the heart of the Lake District National Park and is perfectly placed to tour the famous lakes, traditional towns, villages and hamlets by car or foot. With so much natural beauty to be explored, there is something for everyone. Head out to experience some of the country’s best walking trails, suitable for both the more experience nature lover or novices. For a more relaxing day, stroll to the Britannia pub at the heart of the village, the Langdale Hotel or the Eltermere Hotel for a drink and a bite to eat. Alternatively, take a beautiful two-mile walk-through open meadows, along Elterwater Lake and past the waterfall at Stockghyll Force to Chesters by the River, a popular, vegetarian café at Skelwith Bridge serving good wholesome food. For even more amenities, the nearby rural village of Chapel Stile hosts a shop, pub and café. Alternatively choose to venture further afield to discover the delights of Grasmere, Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere, the latter being a great stop for those seeking an action-packed day trip.
