Lodbourne House became a Bed and Breakfast in March 2019. All rooms are extremely spacious. We aim to offer a comfortable stay with a good choice of breakfasts. We are also offering room service breakfasts and breakfast on a tray in the garden on sunny days.

Property information

Lodbourne Farmhouse was originally the farmhouse for one of the larger farms in Gillingham. More than 50 years ago the land around it was sold. The once beautiful old house now stands in a suburban area where once there were fields. No longer a farm or commercial building it has been given a new lease of life as a Bed and Breakfast. Having had some sensitive restoration with a comfortable modern feel to it. We have 3 themed rooms. The Woodland Room, The Garden Room and The Wedgwood room. All three rooms are on the middle floor of the house and overlook the garden. We also offer a cheaper room for solo travellers. The Pump room is situated at the rear of the property. It is called The Pump room because it is situated above the Pump house that heats the hot water. Some guests can hear the hum but it does not run through the night so should not disturb sleep.

Neighbourhood information

Lodbourne House is not on a farm. Situated in a fairly central location in the town of Gillingham we are in easy walking distance of shops, pubs and places to eat. We are a short distance away from the main train station and only 3 miles from the main A303 road. Gillingham is the most northerly small town in Dorset. It is on the brink of the Wiltshire and Somerset borders. Originally a Saxon town which stands on the River Stour between Salisbury and Yeovil. It is 5 miles from the historic town of Shaftesbury.
