We like to offer "home from home" comforts, personal attention and encourage our guests to let us know if they have any particular requests. It should be noted that the bedroom is only accessible by way of a staircase going down and may be difficult for disabled guests. There are breathtaking views overlooking the bay towards Brixham, which can be enjoyed from our patio and we are within a few minutes walk of a premium beach and all the amenities that a holiday resort has to offer. Our "upside down" house is situated in a quiet private cul-de-sac, between the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham (locally known as Torbay). We like to encourage our guests to enjoy the views from our balcony, possibly with a glass of wine. During the Summer months, we are happy to serve breakfast on the patio (weather permitting).
Both Phil & I have many interests to include DIY (for Phil) and needlework gardening and cooking (for Pauline). We enjoy walking, eating out and socialising with guests. We have a beautiful Labrador (noisy but nice!!) who enjoys walks on the Moors, which are just a 30 minute drive away. We also enjoy having dinner parties.
Most guests enjoy our wonderful view which overlooks a water park and leisure centre. Agatha Christie's house is within a short drive and well worth a visit. Among the most popular attractions are Compton and Berry Pomeroy Castles (haunted!!!), Berry Head where the Napoleonic fort can be seen. The quirky town of Totnes is also very close. Kents Cavern and the Model Village are in Torquay, a short drive away. There is a large mix of restaurants in and around the area. The famous Dartmouth Steam Railway can be seen from our balcony. This is a particularly popular scenic trip to Kingswear where you can take the passenger ferry across the River Dart to Dartmouth, followed by a boat trip to the saint town of Totnes and then return to Paignton by an open top bus (weather permitting). A lovely day out for all the family. Dartmoor is easily accessible by car and well worth a visit with stunning view over the moors, and if you like walking, this is the place to go.
