The Georgian Villa looks across the Wye Valley towards the Brecon Beacons, with the Forest of Dean and the River Wye just a couple of miles away. The Cotswolds are also just19 miles. It’s a spectacular spot for a rather remarkable house, and ideal for a week or weekend away with family or a group of pals. Unsurprisingly, the exterior is Georgian: grand, elegant, cream-coloured and symmetrical, sitting in well-kept landscaped gardens. But then you step inside, and the vibe is comfortable opulence across spacious rooms. Sleeping up to 12 in the Villa with an additional six guests in the adjacent Coach House, this is just the place to get together with a bunch of your favourite people in one of the loveliest parts of the UK. The tone is set as you walk through the door – think statement chandeliers, an array of artwork, antiques and objets d’art at every turn. Georgian features are at the heart, but you'll spot a mix of cleverly put-together styles, including Bohemian flourishes. But this wonderful place is no museum: it’s there to enjoy and relax in, with turquoise sofas in the peacock-themed drawing room and the Chesterfield in the lounge as comfortable as they are stylish. There’s also a grandiose dining room with a table seating 18 and a fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, you'll discover five bedrooms and four bathrooms which are no less sumptuous than the floor below, including a super-king with an en-suite complete with a bath, separate shower and his-and-hers sinks. Another has a roll-top under a bay window, where you can admire the countryside views from while soaking; all have a TV. The Georgian Villa also includes The Coach House which sleeps 6 in two kings and a super-king room with another roll top bath. The house is certainly impressive, but it’s outside that may wow you the most. Admire the bucolic vistas from the architraved windows and French doors.
