Husband and wife team, Mel & Chris love living here at Lynford Gardens. They have two dogs, a labrador called Morgan and a terrier called Teddy. They go walking and running in the forest a lot (as we are in the ideal location), and they just love being outdoors. They are busy with a business and a young child but you may see them around during your stay. They are of course always available by phone or email.

Lynford Gardens Forest Holiday Cottages are located in the heart of Thetford Forest. We have six luxurious cottages with direct access to the forest. The area is extremely popular with walkers, bird watchers, cyclists and those wishing to escape everyday life. Lynford Lake, with it's own man made beach, is only 2 mins walk away. You can easily explore Norfolk and Suffolk, including Sandringham and the North Norfolk coast. All of the cottages have high quality furnishings, well equipped kitchens, underfloor heating, fast wifi and smart TVs. The Wren is a studio cottage sleeping two people, The Robins Rest is a one bedroom cottage also sleeping two people but also has a sofa bed available. The Wagtail and Crossbills are two storey, two bedroom cottages each sleeping 4 people. The Finches is a one storey, two bedroom cottage. These five cottages are next to each other but are self-contained and located within a beautiful shared walled garden set in over 1.5 acres and brimming with wildlife. The garden has a stunning pavilion with seating, fire pit and bbq, which is shared with the guests of each cottage. No road noise and good quality mattresses means you will have a wonderful night’s sleep! If you are looking for something a little more secluded, our new Woodcutters Lodge is a detached, self contained cottage with its own large private garden and patio area (2,800 sqft in total) and is located on the edge of the forest. We are close to RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath, (RAF Lakenheath only 10 miles away and RAF Mildenhall 16 miles away) and we welcome forces personnel, contractors for stays of any duration. On site there is the delightful Shepherds Baa cafe which is open every day from 9 to 4pm (until 5pm in the summer). Lynford Lakes, Lynford Arboretum and the River Wissey are quite literally on the doorstep and have endless walks. We also have two EV chargers on site for our guests' use.

Nestled within Thetford Forest it is right next to Lynford Lakes and Arboretum with endless walks on your doorstep. Breathe the fresh forest air and immerse yourself in nature! We have the Shepherds Baa coffee hut on site which is open daily, serving fresh cakes, savoury snacks and real coffee! As well as the endless nature walks on the doorstep, the area has lots of great things to do and we recommend: A walk around the historic towns of Holt, Burnham Market or Bury St Edmunds A trip to Cambridge, take a punt down the river and explore the historic colleges and gardens Oxborough Hall, followed by lunch in the Bedingfeld Arms pub opposite Norwich Castle and Museum and the Cathedral is a great day out and the city is excellent for shopping and nightlife Morston and Blakeney, take a boat to see the seals Great Yarmouth has a wonderful museum, pier and amusement arcades. If you have children with you, the Hippodrome Circus is not to be missed!
