Mains Street Retreat is a home from home making for a cosy stay. The apartment has a Short term let License Number DG00388F. We are a Dog friendly apartment (maximum 2) please notify us when making a reservation as the booking platform does not have that facility. There is an additional charge per dog per stay paid on arrival. The immaculate property is a 1st floor apartment with its own private entrance door from the street. Apartment is on the first floor entered via stairs into a Living/dining room that contains a lovely comfy sofa that converts into a king size sofa bed. If you book for 2 guests but require both use of bed and sofa bed please advise when booking as there will be an additional charge of on arrival. The apartment comes with free Wi-Fi, a smart TV with guest Netflix access. There is a guest welcome pack with a few essentials and treats(and one for any fur babies) a guest information pack/manual, leaflets and things to do and see, advice on local businesses and attractions. The small but perfectly fitted kitchen comes with an integrated fridge with freezer compartment, cooker, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and all cutlery pots and pans. Milk, Tea, Coffee, Hot chocolate,Sugar, Eggs and cereals are provided. All cleaning items and kitchen accessories included too. The bedroom is large with 2 windows overlooking the rear garden. The bed is a Queen Size and has ample storage and space within the room. The bedroom also includes a hairdryer and TV The en-suite bathroom contains a corner shower, WC and sink. All bed linen, towels are included along with hand-wash, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner Guest access to bathroom is via the bedroom only. The apartment is fully self contained for the guests privacy with its own entrance door on the street. There is also a large rear garden that we as hosts are happy for you to enjoy and relax in. Access via outside the apartment turn right down the side of the property and through large gates

The apartment is centrally located in Lockerbie. All amenities are under a 3 min walk, trains, buses, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, cafes, pubs, bistro, gift & antique shops. Ice rink open winter season. Many are dog friendly too. Lockerbie also has chemists, doctors, dentists, opticians, vets and hairdressers, barbers, print shop and some charity shops. Lockerbie is a great location to explore Dumfries & Galloway, Southern Uplands, Solway Firth, Scottish Borders, Hadrian's Wall, Lochs, Forests, waterfalls, Nature reserves, Castles, Museums, biking and water sports all from 5 mins to 1 hour away giving you so many opportunities in a region that is stunning and under explored. Local restaurants and cafes are very good with Just Be bistro, good food served at Kings Arms hotel and Somerton House hotel, Dragon Star/Crown Hotel Chinese restaurant and pub, Jodies cafe at the Ice rink, Cafe 91 along with Marchbanks and Gregg's bakers, Takeaways, The Royal bar also serves food and has live music most Saturdays. Places to visit are Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery and Temple, Eskdalemuir, Lochmaben Castle Loch walk, Burnswark hill, Caerlaverock Castle, Mersehead wetlands, Eskrigg nature reserve, Loch Ken/St Mary's Loch for Water sports. Devils Beef Tub, Grey Mare's Tail Waterfall, Wanlockhead(Scotland's Highest Village) Forest of Ae, Dalbeattie forest 7 stanes mountain biking. Girdle Stanes, Lupin Stanes with Castle O'er(Neolithic fort) and 12 Apostles stone circles. Walk the Annandale way, fish near Hoddam castle on River Annan, Visit Solvend coast for stunning beaches. Devils Porridge museum, Aviation Museum, Annandale and Bladnoch distilleries. Edinburgh and Glasgow are around 1 hour away on trains or driving is 1 to 1.5 hours away. Gretna, 20 mins, Carlisle 25 mins, Dumfries 20 mins. You can also pay your respects at Lockerbie memorial to victims of the Pan Am bombing at Dryfe cemetery and garden of remembrance with another memorial on Sherwood crescent a 3 min walk.
