The Maynard is a friendly guest house, a fine townhouse in a gracious garden square, sitting above Scarborough's South Cliff. You will find a ready welcome with clean and airy rooms and, should you choose to, a memorable English breakfast. Walks, the beach, the sea, views along the coast, South Cliff Gardens, Scarborough Spa, the Central Tramway, the Rotunda, Scarborough Art Gallery, and the town centre are all but a short walk away. The south cliff esplanade is just 50m away where you will find breathtaking views down the coast and across the South Bay to the harbour and Old Town. Our rooms are not seaview, rather sea-glimpse!
We are a small close-knit team that look after you during stays at The Maynard. Between us we have well over one hundred years of Scarborough living and there is little about the town, the North York Moors, and Yorkshire Coast that we don't know about. These days, so much is going on in Scarborough that you can make your stay as tranquil or packed as you wish. I look forward to welcoming you to stay. Claire
The South Cliff Gardens, just a short walk away, and the Spa cliff have between them recently attracted vast sums of investment. If you are attending an event at the Scarborough Spa, just at the end of Esplanade Gardens, we are a very convenient place to stay. If you look at the social media postings you'll soon see just how many fine views we see every day.
