On the eastern edge of the Lake District National Park, the bustling Lakeland community of Staveley provides excellent access to the entire area. With the River Kent winding through the valley to Staveley, the lovely Kentmere Valley is only a short stroll away and is a favourite with both walkers and mountain bikers. Once a wood-turning mill, Staveley Mill Yard is now a popular tourist destination with bike rentals, outdoor shops, an artisan bakery, a brewery, and the famed Wilf's Cafe. This adds to the village's good selection of amenities, which also include a number of shops, two village pubs, craft stores, a playground for kids, a regular bus service, and a train station. The thriving towns of Kendal, Windermere, Bowness, and Ambleside nearby are well-liked by tourists and offer a variety of amenities to satisfy all interests.
