The cottage benefits from a large front garden and an even larger and private back garden. A small brook at the back of the garden is all that separates the cottage from a woodland area that stretches up behind the house. So, as you can imagine, the back garden is often filled with wildlife, squirrels, badgers and lots of different woodland birds making regular appearances. Harlech itself is a lovely little town. The world famous castle is a must see of course and is only a short walk from the cottage. But there are a couple of really nice cafes in town too, a couple of pubs and also a couple of restaurants to choose from. Again, all within walking distance from the house. The beach is another natural draw for many of our guests. A beautiful sandy coastline that lines this part of the wonderful Cambrian Bay must be among the cleanest and most picturesque shorelines in the UK. The larger harbour town of Porthmadog is about 20 minutes to the North while the ever-popular seaside resort of Barmouth is about 15 minutes to the south. Mount Snowdon is about 30 minutes away in the car but I would encourage guests to discover the less well-trodden hills and mountains that rise up just behind the cottage.
