Mill Lodge B&B is situated in Gilwern within the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Although ideally placed for those wishing to explore the wonders of the Welsh mountains and countryside, It is only 5 miles from the bustling market town of Abergavenny and its national transport links (Abergavenny Train Station). The lodge was built on the orchard of the old mill house on the river Clydach.

Kelvin is a professional photographer and has been photographing the Brecon Beacons all his life. He also offers a range of tuition and guided workshops for all levels of photographer, from total beginner to seasoned professionals looking for guidance on the best locations and local tips and tricks for capturing awesome images. Why not spend the whole weekend with us, have some onsite tuition, then head off to waterfall country to capture some awesome landscapes. We can help you to edit your images in the evening back at the lodge using Adobe Lightroom & Adobe Photoshop.

Gilwern is a quiet village located in the Clydach Gorge and is also on the Brecon & Monmouthshire canal. An earthen banked aqueduct was built here in 1797 to allow the canal to cross the gorge and its river (a real feat of engineering for the time). The aqueduct is just 200m from Mill-Lodge. Cycling along the canal is very popular with guests as the route is completely flat, providing an easy ride through the glorious countryside and its wildlife.
