Welcome to No 10, a mid-nineteenth century property set in the hub of the beautiful historic town of Edwinstowe in the heart of Sherwood Forest. This cottage has recently undergone a full renovation and is well equipped for your stay, however long this may be, providing all your essentials and much more! We are dog friendly! As a guideline, we accept 2 medium sized dogs but please message us first if this doesn't exactly meet your circumstances as we are very flexible. Sherwood Forest is only a few minutes walk away where you can explore the history of Robin Hood and see the Major Oak which is reputed to have been the hiding place and a shelter for Robin Hood and his merry men. It is somewhere between 800 and 1100 years old! We are very lucky to be in a thriving village with lots of excellent pubs, restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. There are also a good collection of shops, including some craft shops, in the nearby Visitors Centre. There are many places to visit locally including Sherwood Pines where you can 'Go Ape' on the high ropes and hire bicycles, Sherwood Forest Railway for a ride on the steam trains, Thoresby Hall for afternoon tea, Rufford Park for a walk around it's beautiful grounds, Whitepost Farm and Wheelgate Park for a day out with the kids and if you fancy venturing a little bit further afield, you're 45 minutes from Nottingham or just over an hour away from the Peak District. The local area is packed full of things to do for adults and children alike!
I've lived in Nottinghamshire for 7 years now and I'm still enjoying exploring. I love Edwinstowe. There's so much to do in the surrounding areas and I feel lucky that I get to share my property with others. I hope they love it as much as I do!
There's plenty of lovely walks which is great, especially if you're bringing your dog on holiday with you. St Mary's Church is just up the road where it is reputed that Robin Hood and Maid Marion wed. Everyone is very friendly in the village and it's great being spoilt for choice with so many places to eat and drink without having to drive anywhere! There's lots of amenities so you never need to run short of anything!
