Sleeps up to 5 . a double bed, a single bed and a double sofa bed. A charming, cosy traditional 2 Bedroom cottage dating back to 1870 in the small hamlet of Fir Tree, Crook. Although almost 200 years old, it has been modernised inside to give modern conveniences along with retaining charm and character. 2 pub/restaurants in the hamlet serving excellent food. Although situated on the A68, the main road to Edinburgh, the cottage itself is a haven of tranquility with double glazing throughout. Please note, that I have WiFi in the cottage. Due to it being semi rural, it MAY drop signal strength from time to time. Never happened yet in over 2 years but it is a possibility.
Hi, our names are Dan and Clare and we have hosted many guests from both near and far in our cottage, and love doing so. Dan is a builder and Clare owns her own personalised travel company so we are both used to meeting people and ensuring they have a great time. We live 1 mile away, so we are always on hand to help if you need us. There are 2 pubs/restaurants within walking distance of the cottage, 'The Fir Tree Hotel' and 'The Duke of York', both serving excellent food. There is a petrol station around the corner with a small shop attached, as well as Tow Law 3 miles further with a larger supermarket. The A68 Cafe serves breakfast and meals daily and is located 3.8 miles away on the A68. Being on the A68, Number 7 is in an enviable location for easy access to Weardale, Scotland, Durham, Newcastle, Hamsterley Forest, the Northumberland Coast and so many other places. Dan is from Brighton and we have lived there together for 19 years, but you cannot beat this beautiful region in the North East of England (Clare's home!).
