    Excellent location within easy walking distance of the town/beaches and round the corner from the train station with good service to Edinburgh. Cottage v well equipped. Very comfy beds and lovely to have separate dining room.

Old Abbey Cottage is a pretty Victorian, red sandstone railway cottage located to the west side of North Berwick. Set back off the street in a row of five cottages the location is perfect, just minutes' walk to the beach, West Links Golf Club, the high street and train station. The cottage is best suited to couples and families (no groups please) and is kitted out with additional items such as BBQ, picnic items, kids beach items and chairs etc. There's a wood burning stove in the living room for that cosy night in on cooler evenings and the overall feel is both cosy and relaxing. The cottage is set over two floors, with one bathroom upstairs (with underfloor heating!) and a Smart TV with all the apps to keep the family entertained. Sorry but this property, due to its size, is only suitable for ONE family with a maximum of either two adults/three children, or up to four adults from the same close family and one child - a maximum of five people in total. Please note the third bedroom is a small single with small single bed (2ft 6in wide), only suited for a child. There are NO PETS or celebrations of any kind allowed at this property as back garden area is communal.
My husband Steve and I live in Edinburgh with our two children and have let out our holiday home - Old Abbey Cottage, in North Berwick - for three years now. We've tried to make it as comfortable as possible and each room has a local theme for that holiday feel. Old Abbey Road dates back some 800 years with the original Priory ruins still visible opposite the cottage. Just a short walk to West Bay beach and the High Street there's no need to drive anywhere! The train station is literally to the back of the cottage beyond a wooded/garden area (although the trains are electric so you don't hear a thing!), ideal for day trips into Edinburgh (30 mins train journey each way).
