The village has a proud community spirit with three friendly pubs and a few bespoke shops and coffee shops, as well as a very handy supermarket. The Belford Museum often has exhibitions, and the local farm shop at the southern end of of the village offers a good choice of organic produce, coffee and ales, and includes an on-site café. Take a walk to St Cuthbert’s Cave only a few miles from Belford where the Lindisfarne (Holy Island) monks are said to have carried St Cuthberts body in AD875 following a Viking raid on Holy Island.
